Afternoon learned ones. I decided to renew my dashboard and fit a retro look radio with Bluetooth etc. The radio is a standard DIN size which matches the aperture in my existing veneered panel. However, the new (second hand!) panel has a much bigger hole in it with four ‘lugs’ cut out and the radio cage just falls through. The gap is a good 6-8 mm all round so it’s too big to fill and I suspect that there isn’t room to reinforce it from behind. It looks OE as it is very neatly cut, which leads me to suspect that my existing radio panel is a custom job.
I see that some suppliers sell an adapter, for quite a lot of money, but they don’t look as though they will support the cage and radio adequately to me. Does anyone out there have any views or pictures of one of these in situ, please?
