Not just Stag scams .. I bought a Samsung S8+ from ebay as a temporary replacement for my phone while I get the screen replaced, delivered today and it is a Chinese knock off .. I was kind of suspicious of it anyway because the price was so cheap £250, but unlike cars I know I am covered so wasn't too concerned when ordering it.. also as I have proven it is a counterfeit item, I don' have to return it plus I get my money back .. so the seller is out of pocket, and I have a free phone, albeit a fake one (but it works fine), having said that I am uncomfortable putting my personal details into a Chinese counterfeit phone .. so will set some fake accounts up and use it for some media stuff I guess. p.s. the reason I dont have to post it back is that in the UK it is illegal to knowingly post a counterfeit item.
eBay really do need to change their reporting set-up so that the fraudulent lister can be notified, not just the individual item. There’s a serious fault in this method at the moment but it seems impossible to contact eBay in any way to discuss this with them - typical tick box online stuff!
I've report a few lately. E bay are getting so strict on scanning private e mail for sharing of contact details.
I have had two warnings now I just sold a tailgate and took it off e bay as it was sold via another source usually Facebook market place or gum tree.
The stupid this is the con man adds share contact details on the main advert.
Another scan on tv was a guy wanting by buy a classic rolls . He was asked to take a lot of cash to view the car which didn't exist
So now on e bay if you want to view a car before bidding you can't send your address or contact number over email other wise you will get a 7 ban or worse for outside trading
it's getting a joke and puts me off selling or buyying

Edd, I think that eBay make an exception for car sales, but as you say, with most other items they are clamping down on sending contact details via the eBay message system.
Cheers Keith I even purchased a hot tub from e bay I first went to see it in Leicester to check it out found the serial number found out it's history thorough the only importer of the brand ( once had Dermot oleary and girls aloud in I of course won the bid
spending anything over £100 should require more contact.

There are 3 or 4 Stags that currently keep appearing on EBay, same photos, same starting price, but different sellers. When you look at “sellers other items” there are loads of other classic cars, caravans etc. I have reported all 4 for the last 2-3 days, only for them to re-appear the next evening on what I suppose is another cloned account? Else why do they have 100+ positive feedback?
I do wish EBay would allow you to report suspected fraudulent sellers, rather than just per item. I tend to report all their Stags, and any other Triumphs they’re selling. Hope they get bored before I do.

I wish there was a way to contact eBay to highlight this idea...
