    Transmission noise

Had a noise similar to a wheel bearing from the rear of the car,not wheel related though, as the noise was constant and not effected by cornering. Turned out to be 3 siezed u/j’s, 2 on the drive shafts and the worst one on the rear of the propshaft. Thankfull that it didnt cause any real damage to the shafts etc. Strange that 3 failed all at about the same time

probably because 6 were fitted at the same time

bit like light bulbs in this house all seem to go at about the same time

do you know any history of the joints?

I had a battle a long time ago with fakes on a well known auction site.

Beleive it or not the propshaft were original type with proper circlips, and the driveshats were a mix of cheaper ones( the type with bent wire circlips.) i fitted the driveshafts about 2 years ago repacing the staked type uj joints with a pair of second hand units that looked as if they were re conditioned. So, cant really complain too much. Got them really cheap off good ol e bay. Mind you, just waiting for somthing else to let go now
