    Rover V8

Kind of on topic as I guess there are a few Stags sporting these seemingly* indestructible engines.

I am in the process of stripping down an early 3.5 low comp Rover v8 for one of my Range Rover projects. Who are the specialist suppliers who I go to for bits please?

I have a SD1 V8 engine in my garage I never fitted years ago, 70k genuine miles, heard running before the car was broken due to rust. Open to offers.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Yes. I removed it myself from the car, with help obviously.

Back in the days when I was in to Rover SDI's I used these people http://www.realsteel.co.uk/ a lot Richard, never had any duff parts from them over the period of owning four V8 Rovers. Theres also a really good Landy independent parts supplier near me called Autopost. http://www.autopost.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home

I had an SD1 UBH 937R in around 1986 5 speed manual, brilliant car and the engine was just a dream - I unfortunately hit a hedge with it and it got broken I believe for the engine which a chap was going to use in a hot rod.
Always wanted a BV8 - just can’t quite run to the cost of them now though!
Out of the two engines, Stag and Rover I still think the Rover is the best unit mainly because it’s all ally and not the iron/ally mix of the Stag which I think is the reason for many of the problems it suffers. Iron expands at a different rate to ally...
