I had the same. The solution is the following:
When you found the symbol in the toolbar search just tap and slide it into an area of the screen.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem, apparently the old SOC forum android app couldn't be updated to the new system, the only way to access the forum is to type it in the tool bar search, a bit of a pain unfortunately or just stick with your old phone

Just changing mobile phones and can't seem to find the SOC forum app on android. It didn't transfer over from old phone to new with the other apps and bizarrely, it's not shown in the Google play apps list/library for the apps already on my existing phone even though it's installed and I posted this using it. Anyone else come across this issue?

Though if you click on a single post it appears correctly.

Also. This thread doesn't appear on the web based version, or does it? Checking for idiot points.
+1 points to me - it's here, in the sticky section.

Something has gone awry with the forum application in the last couple of days. Every post is displayed with about 10" of blank space both above and below the text of the post. This is every post on every thread, including those posted years ago.

I know this has been available for some time, but I cannot find the Stag Owners Club on Google Playstore

    Please advise.

I loaded it on my new iPad Air awhile back - works ok for browsing and quick posts. But if you try and edit one of your posts, you cannot submit it. It also doesn't handle URLs very well.

The only reason I'm here today is that I've resurrected my old iPad 3 to take away on holiday, and it took me ages to find out where I got the original app from so I could put it on the old device. Here's hoping it works with the old IOS that the old iPad is limited to.

    -------

Seems like it won't, I just get 'connection issues' when I try and login.

Yes. I think it’s since my phone was upgraded to latest iOS.
Hopefully the next “upgrade” to the forum software will actually be an improvement, unlike this one.

The Forum on my mobile phone works fine but I can't get the Forum on my PC, everything else is OK.

NOW SOLVED with a separate short cut to the Forum in addition to the main SoC site.
