    Pitting on bumpers -advice ?

As the sun came out yesterday I finally got the car out of the garage to start tidying it up for the summer (hopefully) . Ive managed to get most of the metalwork quite presentable using Autosol metal polish but I have some stubborn pitting on the rear bumper and overrider, just above the exhaust, which I cannot seem to shift. Tried the many posts on You Tube advice of Tin Foil, Coke WD40 , Brasso, but still it won't move . Anyone got any bright ideas before I start saving up for a re-chrome or replacement stainless steel bumpers?

Brillo pad soaked in water, followed by autosol, worked a treat on mine.

I also have a few areas of pitting...trouble is you can't remove it if like mine it's below the surface.
        waiting for some stainless ones.

I use fine steel wool and Autosol. Then I use Kurust applied to the pits with a small brush. Then I use Bill Hamber Auto Balm hard wax. I only have to do this at yearly intervals or more (but the car is garaged).
