About a year ago I fitted a Smiths Classic dual oil pressure/water temperature gauge and both parts were working fine. At the end of last year, I had to pull the dash out to fit a new voltage regulator. Afterwards the water temp was reading about 20 degrees lower and I thought I must have linked the capillary tube slightly.
After a very successful Drive it Day, the temperature need!e now doesn't move of 30 Deg. I gently pulled the dash out yesterday and the capillary tube looked ok, no excessive bending or kinking. Before I lash out a hundred quid for a new gauge I thought I would ask the experts for their considered opinion. I am not concerned about overheating, the Kenlowe switched on as usual when idling, so not a big problem at all, but I do like to know the temperature.
Cheers Mac
