As I am also member of the Alvis Owners Club I have been keeping my eye on a particular car that came up for sale. At a meet here in Dorset last evening for all makes there was the car with its new owner.
The story behind the sale of the Alvis, if true is disappointing. Apparently the owner of the Alvis bought a so called concourse Stag. It subsequently turned out the floor was fibreglass, the inner cills were completely rusted and it was a surprise the car had not collapsed in the middle going over the first bump on the road. It basically needs a total rebuild apparently much to the surprise of the purchaser.
Whilst there is always the old legal adage “caveat emptor” if this car was sold by an SOC member as “concourse”,it is very sad to think that we might treat someone buying a Stag in this way. I really hope none of us would behave this way.
