I need to adjust the bonnet release mechanism, the OM just says pull back the spring and loosen the nut and adjust the rod. The spring is very strong and I can't move it enough to get a spanner on the nut. I don't have a mini puller; any tips will be welcome.

the plunger can be an arse to adjust. the spring should compress enough to get the flats of a spanner on the lock nut. I had to remove it from the bonnet to get the lock nut to loosen.because it needed heat. a lot of heat!!! once the lock nut was loose I refitted to the bonnet and moved forwards one step.

The plunger was the problem, just solved using a bicycle spanner which was thin enough to go in between the coils of the spring and, believe it or not, the open ended part was the right fit for the nut, what a coincidence. I likewise thought I would have to remove the plunger from the bonnet or have to grind down a spanner thin enough to fit.
Job done, very pleased.
