Help with gearbox's front cover orientation

I'm rebuilding a manual gearbox. I bought an extended gearbox front nose cover from RobSport. Reading forum emails I've heard this helps. Being confident of when I took the whole thing apart and knowing where everything goes. I need to now know which way does the front cover go on. Should the oil passage in the cover be at the 6 'O Clock position or at the 9 'O Clock position. On the gearbox there seems to be a notch at 9 'O Clock for oil to lube the bearing. Photos here. I have seem some photos on the web with it at the 6 'O Clock position, but want to make sure.

I have always fitted mine at 9 o'clock so the notch lines up, and the original nose pieces have an oil drain hole in the bottom when fitted in this position, presumably to allow any oil escaping past the seal to lubricate the sliding parts. Don't know if the Robsport item has this hole.

Robsport takes your old cover as an exchange so I'm assuming they are modifying the original unit. I'll look for the oil hole, but I don't recall noticing anything.

My brother, in the UK, sent me a photo of the old one which he is about to send it back to RobSport for credit. It has the hole as you meniton, I assuming for draining oil. My new extended cover does not have this hole.
I will fit it with that bit at 9 O Clock as that makes sense.

        Thanks, Sujit
