    Thank you for assuring me the crank is straight enough. It was sent to Norway just with padding, no one knows how many times it might have been dropped on a concrete floor...

    I really can not relate to inches, so I need to calculate the other way to mm's! So, when do you stop using fractions and start using thou?

      I often annoy my younger colleagues because I'll refer to something as quarter-inch, then when I see that puzzled expression, I remember to say 6mm, or, if I'm being accurate, 6.35mm.

      A crankshaft run-out of two-tenths is pretty good but to be absolutely certain I'd check No.2 & No.4 mains as well, supported on No.1 & No.5. That's what I'd do, but then I rev my Stag engine to 6,500rpm sometimes....
