Depends on the clearance - the “nose” of the pump is only about an inch from memory but it depends what happens with the drive shaft, if it comes down with the pump it’ll be a challenge to manoeuvre in a tight space.
Richard, I think i managed to do it with a struggle but it was around 25 years ago so I might be wrong. Somebody on here could have a better answer.

I had to remove the bolts and lever the downpipe out of the way. It wasn't quite possible otherwise bit to tight although it was a very close call and maybe you might just do it.
