B Post trim

i need to remove the B post trim to go in search of the hard top wiring. Please can some one let me know the rough position of the three Spring clips holding it in place so that I can minimise the stress levering it off. I know I have to remove the seatbelt reel and lower screws as well.

I did mine recently, both sides. I found that I didn't need to remove the seat belt reel at all other than the top shoulder piece if I recall. There's just enough room to pull back the top half of the trim as there are large apertures and from there I was able to fish out the fallen contact wire. It was a lot easier than I first suspected that it was going to be.

Once I'd found the wire, I just poked a stiff wire down (I used a welding rod but anything suitably stiff) from the top and hooked the wire an pulled it up and through the B post top hole.

I get that all the time if I try to view on iPhone using the App. On the pc is fine. Anybody know why? M

I'm hoping to find the heated rear window wires to use as high intensity rear lights. My Mk 1.5 has no hard top.

Thanks Drew, that's a great help - knowing it's a steel panel takes away the worry of bending a a fibreboard panel. Mines a mk2 so I hadn't had the light out to spot it was a metal pressing.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the contributors to this forum and to reinforce the phrase Search and you will find.

I need to remove the chrome trim to the B posts (respray) but couldn't access the rear rivets as they are covered by the internal trim, and I wasn't sure how that trim was fixed, but a short search and there is Drew with the answer plus photos. The search facility is superb, it may take a bit of sifting, but the answer is invariably there.
