Bonnet release cable

Fitted a new bonnet cable to the drivers side as an easier access and blow and behold, pulled it out and when I push the knob back, the outer cable has come out. Now it doesn't work of course.

Anyone else had this with a new cable. Not sure how I can fix it now and being that I have cut the cable, I cant send it back

Trying to think of a way to hold it in place, if only there were small clamps :0

Meccano collar and grub screw often works in such situations on inner cable, no idea about the outer cable though

Why not send it back if it’s faulty. Give them a ring and explain your predicament. Any decent company would refund or replace.

except because "drivers side for convenience" sounds like he is not using it as designed. the outer must be clamped at either end for it to work shirley

You’ll have to clarify, Andrew. You say “the outer cable has come out”. Out of where? Perhaps a photo or two might help.

Ive ordered another one now better made but this was the problem and I can't return it as I have cut it down This was my problem
