Forum access problem using a Tablet

Back home in Tenerife I can successfully access the Forum using my Laptop.
whilst in the U.K. and other European Countries, I can only access the Forum via my Doro smartphone.
Using identical network settings on my Samsung Galaxy tablet, I can access the SOC website o.k., but on clicking on the Forum link, it always gives me "Network Error".
Android software is up to date, and all settings seem o.k. (I can access other websites o.k.), it is just the Forum link that fails.
Trying to access via an email link also gives me the same error.
Using phone & tablet side by side and pressing identical links on each, the phone goes in fine, but the tablet fails.
Can anyone explain the problem, I would prefer to use the tablet for Internet access when away because of it's bigger screen and keyboard. Did notice the android version on the tablet is a lower version than on the phone, but it says there are no updates pending.
Don't fly home to Tenerife til 27th, and am meeting a Cheshire Stag owner not met before at lunch tomorrow. Can't post any pics taken at the Tatton Park show till I get home, and did see quite a few Stags there in various locations.

Well my tablet works fine. As I write this. Something in your set up I suspect unfortunately.

Do you have any protective background services like anti-virus, firewall or banking protection etc. running on the tablet that are not present on the phone ?

Well, my Tablet now freezes completely whenever I click on the "Settings" icon on the Home screen.
Nothing I have tried has freed it, but there is though a very good Computer/Tablet/Phone repair shop just a 100 yards away, and that doesn't make any charge if they can't fix a problem.
They fixed my wife's I-Pad when that froze recently, and my Laptop when it started overheating, so I will take it in this coming week, although I am considering a Samsung Galaxy Book to replace it, for use when I go away on holiday, as my home PC is too heavy if I am trying to get away with just carry on luggage, and I prefer a "Windows" machine rather than the Android Operating system.

Took tablet to local PC repair shop, who diagnosed a "Virus" problem being the cause of all my problems, and they are re-setting it but I will lose all my data.
Guy in charge said he has had a lot of virus problems from PCs etc used at Airports where the free Wi-Fi offered is not secure!

Whilst in there I noticed they are now selling PCs, including travel PCs (subject of a question on another Thread).
After examining a couple I have opted to buy one with a 12" screen and is lightweight - the make is (I think) Median which is apparently German and a subsiduary of Philips.
(Haven't picked it up yet as didn't have my wallet with me).

Just 205 Euros whereas similar ones I have seen on the Internet and in U.K. stores are much much dearer than that. It's not as powerful as my home PC, but only want it to take on my travels as an alternative to the Samsung Tablet.
