    Rimmers

I just bought 2 cam cover gaskets and the 4 half moon rubbers from Rimmers I always shop with paddocks ,one they are about a mile from where I live and two I had a nasty experience with Rimmers last year . I needed the gaskets and rubbers to replace the very leaky ones that I got from paddocks about 18 months ago ,I couldn't get to Paddocks because of work so I ordered from Rimmers and I have got to say credit where its due not only was I impressed with the delivery time but also the gaskets are twiceas thick asPaddock and look much better quality and the same price .Well done this time Rimmers

I felt I had to post this because I am quick enough to criticise them when they get it wrong

I agree, as long as it`s not mechanical and body panels Rimmers are ok on everything else.

I concur totally with you regarding Paddocks, whilst generally ok they dont get it right on quality all the time.

Ive had slow deliveries and very poor quality rubber parts(diff bushes)that perished to destruction in about 6 months, shocking.

When you consider the labour time an cost to remove these parts send back ,try to get a refund, then have all the hassle or cost of refitting it is no joke.

I prefer now to deal with the smaller guys where I can like L.D and will be giving Winns and Ang Triumph atry very soon.

Whilst Rimmers are usually marginally more expensive than Paddocks there service is generally A1 and as you say parts are generally good on quality.

      My personal opinion only

      Regards

The very first time I bought parts for the Stag as a new owner was from Rimmers on two occasions.

Both times wrong parts were sent. I didn't bother sending them back or making a fuss, they were under £5.00, just could not be bothered with the work of ringing up,sending back, ordering again, justifying they werenot what I ordered, etc, etc.

How does the saying go, once bitten.....

          Sukh.

Have you fitted these yet? The ones i got a few years ago were too hard and would not fit with any amount of persuasion. I ended up re-using the old ones. Eventuallyfound some NOS ones at Stoneleigh.

Yes Mark I have fitted them ,very tight fit but went on. I think they must be tight to stop the oil getting past
Just a thought but why are they there, is it so you can get the cam shaft out ,surely that will just lift off
