    noises

so have been driving the stag last few weeks there's any annoying noise when driving when you touch the accelerator and goes away when you take foot off was thinking gearbox bearing at first but with car stationary dip clutch in or out there's no noise
its whirring spinning grinding noise can be lived with but im always notice it now making it a noisy drive
don't know what driveshaft trouble sound like
otherwise car drives great no side to side movement etc

Viscous Coupling? They can make a terrible noise that sounds like imminent catastrophic drivetrain failure!
Noise would be heard relative to engine speed rather than road speed.

I can second that Dave just done mine noise and vibration was shocking, back to smooth and quiet again since new one fitted.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be an out of line drive shaft gaiter on one side. Just squared it up and the noise went. I was pleased about that because it sounded awful. John

If it has the sound of cellophane being scrunched up it could be the propshaft UJ's. Fairly easy to check with rear of car up wheels off the ground, engine off but left in gear to "lock" the gearbox, and under the car looking at the shaft whilst rotating a road wheel back and forward.

Had a rubbing and occasional grinding from mine when l first got it... mentioned it to Trevor at Faversham when it went in....to be told it's a common problem the bottom of the handbrake rubs on the prop shafts.
                    worth a look.
