Front air intake

I am currently restoring my 78 Stag and the front air intake is quite badly pitted. Has anyone had any success at re-chroming this item?

i think you can get a chrome cover which sits on top

Do you mean the heater air intake by screen. yes you can have it replated.

I had mine replated about 15 years ago, and it still looks ok. The base metal is that awful Mazak alloy, so make sure that you get as much of the pitting out as possible, otherwise it will spoil the finish.

This was referring to the air filter intake - which do you mean?

I meant the grille that sits in front of the windscreen. It was chromed
