I put a new belt on the relocated alternator then tightened the belt on the new Essex pump reconnected the inhibitor switch and refitted the Webber
loads still to do

Does this specialist put it through Type Approval as part of the ‘upgrade’? Technically it is illegal to retro-fit LED bulbs in lamp units Type Approved for filament bulbs. Which is why most reputable sellers of external LED auto bulbs state in the small print “for off-road use only”. Even Halfords.

Your car, your money, but you should be aware of what you are agreeing to. Enjoy your holiday.

reinstalled the rad. cowl. put on the Windesa wind deflector. wind noise gone but now hear engine noise (4000 rpm bw35 at 70) can hear radio. seems to be quieter at 80 mph. oh forgot to mention the diff. whine. but weekend car for me. so will live with it

Been busy preparing the car for the forthcoming RBRR. Diff oil topped up, gearbox oil topped up, wheel bearings checked and the nearside engine mount replaced.

Also discovered that the offside rear brake cylinder is leaking fluid behind the rubber boot so that requires replacing.
