    Gaydon this Saturday

    Hi All

    Who else on here is going to the RBRR drivers briefing at Gaydon this coming Saturday (22nd Sept)?

    I would have been but I’’ve had to withdraw my entry, however reading Club Torque this morning it’s good to see there are 18 Stags entered this year. A record entry as well, 150 Triumphs leaving Knebworth on the Friday evening will be a sight to see. Good luck Bruce, I’m jealous I couldn’t make it this year.

      I am sorry to hear you have withdrawn from the event. I understand the entry list currently stands at 138 after a number of withdrawals.

      I will admit I am becoming slightly anxious as the date approaches!

        I hope to be there - in the stag. If anyone else is going and coming from Norwich area then if they have room to bring me a stag rear subframe it will save me a 300 mile round trip in the next few weeks.

            We are here visiting today and saw a bunch of Stags in the car park on the way in. Lovely sight.

              I broke down on the way to the meeting. Got as far as Jct 5 on the M42 when the rear offside wheel tried to detach itself whilst travelling at 60mph

              I made a very rapid journey from the middle lane to the hard shoulder!!!!!!!

                Very lucky Bruce, glad you made it safely to the hard shoulder, have you time to repair the studs andwill you still qualify for the RBRR without the briefing?

                  Hi Nigel

                  the offending driveshaft is already off and longer studs fitted. I will reassemble it all in the morning. The brake cylinder will also be changed as it has started to weep. Then i will do the studs on the other side.

                  yes we can still take part in the RBRR

                      I seem to remember at a recent CT meet you telling me about the wheel studs being too short for you new 'minilite' wheels and that you had sourced some longer ones? Did you not fit them until yesterday/today?

                      Anyway, best of luck with the run. Hope you make the start and it all goes well!

                        I replaced the short studs on the front but not the longer ones on the rear.

                        I took the view that the difference on the rears was marginal and not worth the effort of removing the driveshafts. I was wrong!!!!!!!

                        43mm long studs now fitted on all four corners

                              the brake require bleeding
                              USB charger sockets to fit
                              refit the Stag alloy style wheels
                              fit the hardtop

                              so just a few jobs left to do.
