I left on Sunny Stockport on Thursday and made for Scarborough and arrived easily bracing ourselves for all the dreadful weather that was promised. Had a couple of days in and around Scarborough visited Bridlington, Foley and Robin Hoods Bay before revamping to Whitby and Middleton in Teesdale then overnight to Brough and Ulverston before home again. Dring this time 2 things of note occurred..I managed to top the 10,000 mile distance since ownership.(18months) and during my tour this weekend I saw only 2 what you might call Classic Cars both Triumph Stags! One in Scarborough (white with tan roof) and another yellow one near Brough.. car managed 27mpg overall and used little oil. When I bought it I wanted to see if it could be used as a "proper" car and it has passed that test very well.

Glad you enjoyed a tour of God's own county. We live in the Yorkshire Dales and have some lovely scenery on our doorstep. The only fly in the ointment is that the Dales, especially Wharfedale where we live seems to be cycling central with packs of these two wheeled menaces clogging up the narrow and often single track roads. The most recent trips out we've had have been up to the quieter parts of the Lake District, which if you avoid the congestion around Windermere is very pleasant and you have the chance to enjoy open roads and get your foot down.
