10 min @ 24A is only 4Ah, which is only 6% of a 70Ah battery. Provided the battery and charging system is in good order, this shouldn't be a problem. Am planning to doing similar on mine. If the fan is run on the slower speed, it probably takes ~18A, hence 3Ah for 10-min running.

Derek - this is the delay on Off relay module I got for mine

I set it up and have given it a lot of testing to reasonably confirm reliability before fitting - all OK. This partucular timing module is not currently available though there are similar items noted lower down the page. A lot cheaper solution than a Durite delay off relay which is close to £60 for the time you're looking for. PM with your mobile number if you want to talk it through.

I'm very tempted with going the Davis Craig external water pump route and may go with their controller for both the pump and fan.

      Jonno.
You don’t mention using an additional high current relay to drive the fan, the one on your suggested module is rated at 10 Chinese amps. Any decent fan will take well over that.

Good point, Koy. The timer module is used to control the relay(s) you'd normally have to handle the power to the fan itself.

This looks like a good option which can handle 20A directly

Jonno, glad you clarified that as not everybody fits relays, they should but don't

To be sure, a useful relay, though 20A will be underrated for the 2-speed 14" Kenlowe recommended for the Stag, which pulls 24A on High, 18A on Low..Therefore it should be restricted to controlling a 30A relay for the fan.

Also, worth watching on this Kenlowe 2-speed, under no circumstances can the High connection be made without the Low remasining on. It blows a 30A fuse very quickly! (never use the Coil +ve as a 12V feed for the relay circuit - don't ask me how I know!).

Jonno and others, Thanks for the very helpful and informative answers, Jonno, the picture of the delay device is enough to frighten me without the description which might as well be in chinese. Thanks for your offer to talk it through, I will try the simple solution of altering the wiring to the thermostat to see how long the fan runs on, then I will go for an alternative if that doesn`t help.I already use relays so that makes it easier, Derek
