    Auto Stag footrest.

    I read with interest the article on the "Dead pedal" footrest on page 24 of the October SoC mag. My car is a Sept 1972 Mk 1.5 Auto and doesn't have a footrest to modify nor are there any fixing holes in the transmission tunnel , which I believe is original. I note in the Bros catalogue item 631624 is the drivers footrest. Where has mine gone or was it a later addition?

    I have a US mk1 auto and a shell of a mark II auto. The mark ii has foot rest not my Mk1.

    So probably added later,

      Mine has the captive nuts in the tunnel but didn’t have a footrest fitted. November 1972 build.

        Isnt the foot rest on the LHD car on the door side ? My 73 has it. I also fitted a Stag one to my XJS.

              I bought mine for my '77 car from "Justriumph" martin@dimmick984.fsnet.co.uk and fitted it to the existing captive nuts.
              sigpic 1977 TV8, Pimento,ZF Autobox, BMW back end.

                Yes! On the door side. Just wanted to point out it was an after though and came later. My Mk1 does not have those captive nuts, but the MkII shell does.
