Pressing out a bearing by the inner race for reuse
Pressing out a bearing by the inner race for reuse
I'd like to reuse the bearing for the quill shaft, ISTR the ROM says to use the quill shaft to press it out. Would this put undue pressure on the bearings / cage between the races?
Sujit
You would usually press out a bearing by applying pressure on the outer race of the bearing using something like a socket. applying pressure to the inner race can or will destroy the bearing due to side loading pressure.
