    PDWA Overhaul

    Hi
    I have silicon brake fluid leaking through my PDWA switch. I have removed the PDWA valve from the car and removed the spool. I am looking for the correct sizing for the o-rings so I can source them in New Zealand. Does anyone have the correct sizing for these O rings.

    do a search on Pdwa . some sone rebuilt there's and noted size. I went to a shop with my unit and they gave me some. but sorry don't recall size. search buckeye triumph

        Paul, they are a 'BS 008' number o-ring with 3/16" internal diameter. I have just recently sourced the same rings myself. As I discoverer from this forum don't use the commonly available rings made of NBR. I sourced a Viton material rings but others have said here that you could also use a EPDM material ring may also be referred as EP/EPR I believe.

          I have read of other people having problems with silicon brake fluid in that it can make the seals swell up.

            Thanks for the detail on the o rings, the silicon does effect some rubbers but I like not having to panic if there is a leak on the paintwork

              Yes, some rubbers tend to swell with silicone but not all. I dont think the Viton material is affected. The corrosive nature is another reason I am going silicone fluid as well.
              The shuttle slid in very easily with a bit of silicone oil on the O rings and I mounted the PDWA in the engine bay last night.
