I have considered this as I got sick of bending back the fins..
I bought a Davies, Craig modern type of tranny cooler which is about half the weight of the factory one.
This type of 'parallel' design allows for a much smaller unit as it is far more efficient compared to the older style 'tube and fin' design.
If I go for a 'pusher' fan on the main radiator I thought of mounting this behind the radiator meaning it has airflow at idle speeds as well.
Davies, Craig to memeory recommended the 21 plate for the BW 35, check their web site.
Bit more work involved as you need to run new tubes to it.

Has any one moved the persition of the auto oil cooler,asking as they always get beaten up where they are. (Fins all bent )

Stooligan (Paul ) has mounted a none stag one in front of his radiator with no ill effects. Drop him a emai or ring him I am sure he will send you a picture.
