What has happened to this forum

its 10.00 pm and no posts since 19.31. Surely not everyone is watching the dancing?
The reponses to my previous post confirmed my thoughts that the new forum was difficult to use and is clearly driving members away.
This must be stopped and a more useable forum introduced without further delay.

For comparison, the last post in the Stag section of the Club Triumph Forum was on 29th August........

      Hi John,

Just watched a "Catch up" programme about Dusty Springfield.

Perhaps people have other things to do and their cars are running OK, is it life and death that there are no posts, I have no particular issues using the "new" forum.

Following Dave's comment the last post on the Facebook Triumph Stag Fans page was 9 hours ago !!

I'm off to bed now, got a busy day tomorrow.

it's down to the questions asked, and the responses given that makes it what it is...it's ours to use or abuse!

Nobody has asked about Header Tanks or Tyres for awhile. That usually guarantees a flurry of responses.

I can only assume everyone is happy with their Tyre choice and those who want Header Tanks have fitted them.

Since this new forum format posts have dried up somewhat, I hardly post now, and to be honest hardly read the forum, was much easier before.

I guess that is an example of either how the new forum works, or how members are viewing/reading it. HTs are the subject of a thread started only 2 days ago: https://socforum.com/forum/forum/sta...2-header-tanks

                      Good morning John,

I know what you mean about this new vB5 version of the Forum not being the most userfriendly thing. I’m far from over the moon myself with all these ”improvements” but don’t see us changing platform anytime soon, so we will just have to make it work for us somehow.

However, if anyone can pinpoint specific issues or bugs I think you should PM them to our tireless admin Brian and he will then request that the vBulletin techies makes a new patch for us to hopefully sort the problem. The better the issue is described the easier (and more likely) it is to fix.

                      Cheers,
                      Joakim

Personally I much preferred the old version and found it a lot easier to use.
As an example of not as many or frequent posts/responses, yesterday I made a post (at lunchtime) asking for help/suggestions to a problem I am currently having with my carbs, but not had a single response.

Fear not Terry, I have just now written a response to your carb query, although not sure it’s going to be of much help...

I find the search function on the new forum difficult to use and come back with meaningful results. In the advanced search there does not seem to be an option to search on all the words in a phrase. For example 'oil filter' will return a whole series of hits on oil and filter so you get everything on engine oil, gearbox oil, diff oil, fuel filters and air filters etc. On my oil filter search I wanted to get a list of spin on oil filters part numbers which fit a Stag. In the end I searched on google and it took me to a post on this forum with the information I needed. Perhaps the poor search function is the reason why there are so many posts about tyres and header tanks as nobody can find what has been said before.

This is a problem commented/complained about on many forums that use VBulletin - it is not unique to the SOC forum. One solution is this:

Search feature on websites not just in forums is one of the most important features a website must have. Giving the website visitors the ability to easily find the
