Fuel injection

Figuring in the cost of crankshaft sensor, HP pump, flow and return pipework, ECU and harnessing with associated labour and rolling road tuning could treble that cost at least.
You may also decide you need a swirl pot with LP pump to feed it so that cutting out round corners doesn't occur when you have low fuel level in the tank.
Nice idea, but it still basically dumps fuel into the manifold at one location and relies on the cylinders to scavenge the fuel from there, which is in effect what single point injection was on smaller engine cars when fuel injection was becoming the norm.
With precision fuel mapping throughout the range It could give useful improvement in fuel economy and perhaps performance, but IMO a good carburetor system could deliver equal performance if set up properly.
But then I'm not a mechanic so wtf do I know..

So it’s £230 for some shine Stromberg tops, sort the rest out yourself? Or have I missed something?

An example is here at a similar price:

If you want to "play" with EFi but don't necessarily have access to machining facilities and/or are not as skilled at fabrication as say Neil (Flying Farmer) or Steve (Stagdad) then it gives you a way in. Yes the rest of the components will cost a fair amount but any other "kit" will cost around £1600 and will require work to fit and engineer the linkages and air intake.
It would be nice to see it available as a complete "bolt on" kit with all the bits.

Hi Roger,
seems like a realistic appraisal, and bearing in mind that Chris does tend to develop his ideas further, I wouldn't be surprised if he did indeed do a kit sometime. It certainly does look neat & compact. I guess it's only our injection experts who would be able to appraise if it's worth it in terms of performance or whatever. I would think if it's already running on a car, then Chris would have a list of the bits used.
The bonus is you can put the old tops on eBay for £75!
