Hi all. I have the opportunity to purchase a 13.5" Mota Lita wheel for my Mk2 Stag. It is currently fitted with the standard steering wheel which I think is around 1" larger in diameter. My question is, has anyone else that has fitted a smaller wheel, with a thicker rim had any issues with the instruments being obscured? I can't trial fit the new wheel as it isn't local to me. I like the idea of a thicker rim as I find the standard wheel a bit "thin" but don't want to end up with an impractical result. Any help and opinions welcome. Thanks.

Hi
Mine came with the 13.5 Moto Lita and I very quickly removed it and went back to standard. All the important gauges obscured and made the car (in my opinion) very hard to steer as it was such a small wheel. Felt very go-cart like. I bought an original 14" and it is perfect, although not as soft as the Moto Lita.
Just FYI, mine is MkII, original seats and I am 6'3. Others shorter or taller may have a different experience!

I fitted a Mota-Lita earlier this year. The rim is actually a little thinner than the standard wheel but I soon got used to it and I think it looks good. It can be a bit bright on very sunny days as the polished alloy reflects the sunlight back into your face so sunglasses are a must.
