16" Electric Fan Mounting Ideas please.

I have managed to squeeze in a 16" pusher fan and ditching the original viscous fan as I don't like the idea of it turning at 750 RPM at idle on a 43/110 degree day with the AC on... Tight fit but seems okay thus far.
Looking for mounting ideas. Preferably with nothing sitting under the fan as I want it hard up against the core if anyone has recently tried or fitted a similar size.
I wanted at least a 20 AMP fan from a reputable brand or a reputable country but some of the prices for this are a bit, like many things in this rip off country ambitious..
If anyone is looking to do the same beware as there seems to be too many variable numbers in CFM and m3/h output figures I noticed and some of the little known brands on ebay etc. seem a bit hard to trust or believe..
This one I have is only from a major local large Air Con parts supplier brand but with at least a USA Revcor stamp on the motor case and with a claimed 230w motor and with around 20 AMPS. I would not advise to look for anything less and probably largely ignore any of the airflow numbers. But it is a challenge for an easy tidy fit.
Any mounting ideas would be much appreciated.

Mine is mounted in front of radiator and has a simple lower bracket which slips under the radiator and is bolted down with the two bolts that hold the lower radiator in place. The upper fan has a similar angle bracket which slips behind the two upper radiator bolts that also hold the black air filter scoop(?) in place. so no additional fixings.

I also use 1 metre of https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/...arge-per-metre wide trim rubber seal around radiator

Think you're right in going for min 20A and fitting up to the rad to prevent reflection/ turbulence. I was fortunate to get a 14" Kenlowe before they moved out of the aftermarket supply. It's the one they recommended for the Stag - 2-speed taking 18/ 24A. The Normal setting is good enough (viscous fan removed) running intermittently, mainly after a good run or in traffic, though the max ambient I've had was ~30C. In your ambients, personally I'd retain the viscous fan, at least until I'd got some experience.

Afraid I can't offer any fixing advice - mine is clamped to the rad using 3/ 3.5mm studding with washers and wing nuts. I know some members don't like this due to the strain this puts on the core, particularly the torque reaction on switch on (maybe a resistor in circuit for a couple of seconds to give a soft start might help). Mine seems to be holding up OK, though only on for 3-years/ 10k miles.

I've fitted a 16" Kenlowe in front of my radiator. When I had the rad re-cored the shop fitted a set of custom made brackets to the radiator together with a boss to screw in a temperature sensor switch. They were very critical of the through the rad pins that Kenlow supply for fitting

That's a great idea Alan, thanks. I will see what I can fabricate up along those lines.

Thanks Jonno. That's some serious Amperage for a 14" unit! Definitely needed to get through the standard 4 core. I have a few radiators including an excellent condition original with the staggered tubes as well as a recored in line 4 core. I haven't bench tested the fan on either one yet but the in line would allow more air to pass through obviously but that's not to say the original may not out perform it! I plan to test both on the vehicle when I finish the restoration.

That's handy NickA. Do you have the standard original style core? Much difference with the 16" unit? What are the brackets like?

The revotec Stag fan kit comes with mountings that fit the same as mentioned above = thru the top mounting bolt holes and under the lower radiator locating pins.

Sorry for slow reply; not had a chance to visit the Stag for a while. I believe its an original style core, I just went with what the radiator specialist advised. I've attached a couple of pictures of the mounting brackets
