Odd wiper actions, any suggestions?

Hi

I decided to paint my engine bay which meant removing a fair bit.
All done now and after refitting the wiper motor Im now having some issues.
Initially the wipers kept working and I couldn't stop them. After fiddling with the nylon slider which I think I had round the wrong way (thanks for the excellent pdf guide in the tech section BTW) they now seem to work OK i.e. Intermittent, slow and fast, but in the off position they seem to be on intermittent again, but with a very long pause between sweeps.

Has anybody experienced this or got any suggestions please?

Hi Neil

The wiper park function is messing with you.

The wiper motor park function always has 12v to it so long as ignition is on. If the park plunger (under the plastic slider) is not pushed in then the wipers will continue to try parking.

Is it possible that you damaged the micro switch plunger when you had the slider the wrong way around?

Adjustment is under the wiper motor, two screws I think and the whole microswitch can be adjusted to ensure that the slider pushes the plunger fully down when parked

+1 think you may off broken the park switch little up stand breaks easily, don't ask me how I know

Thanks guys, you were right, that nylon thing and park plunger was the problem (fiddly sucker), but after some swearing, plenty of small adjustments and tea & biscuits, all now seems good!
