    Rear seat belt fitment

Miy car has the reels just in front of turret on inner wing, my new side panels do not fit with reel there.
I could try adapting the 'box' on the side panel but am looking for other ideas as well.
One thought was to mount the reel under the hood stowage area where the other end of belt is mounted, but not sure if tonneau would mean belt became trapped or static.
    Any thoughts?

moved from Technical Section as it is not a guide on how to do a task.
    The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

OK so before I butcher the larger than standard cubby boxes, I have swapped the seat belt instal around so that the reel is under the tonneau and hood (when folded). It still pulls and retracts freely as the belt clears the hood and the gap between the tonneau cover and back seat/frame is wide enough not to clamp the belt.

Need to check everything is still in order once all is back together properly, but it looks OK - my other option as we only rarely have people in the back is to fit static belts.

      Any thoughts?

I think Jason (Stanstag) fitted his the same way as you are trying. I would suggest PM’ing him and check with him, but I’m sure they worked OK.

I have had mine fitted that way for the last couple of years and they are regularly used with car seats for my grandchildren with no issues. One belt did fail on its MOT test last year as it did not easily pull out due to a problem with the adjuster on its side which was easily remedied.

they fit onto the rear wheelarch. There should be two bolt holes near the bottom. The belt then goes through the side panels, there is a cutout you need to cut out. There are hard to find black plastic fittings that the go into that cutout.

It is likely that the usual incumbent of the rear seat of the Stag will only be our dog, Duggie a Miniature Schnauzer, so I decided that I s...

Just make sure all the mounting points are not weakened by corrosion.

As to the trim for the cut out, I created a part to 3D print. The design is here, free to download for personal use, or to send to a print bureau.

Triumph Stag Rear Seat Belt Trim found on #Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2984064

I don't mind printing them for anyone, all I've asked for in the past is postage and completely optional, a donation to Alzheimer's charity as it was through the loss of my father to this disease that I inherited my Stag.

                        Thanks
I've got mine routed directly through the cubby box, nice straight run, no fouling or stress, i'm leaving as is for moment and once the fit etc is tested and proved i'll either get these printed or come back to you re your offer for a donation - my Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers last year so I might make a donation anyway for advice received.

No worries, I designed them with a split so there's no need to remove anything to fit them, they just slip over the belt and then pushed into the hole in the trim. I've got a set ready printed for anyone else that needs some, can always make more.

Sorry to hear about your mum, I wish you all the good thoughts for the future, it will be challenging at times.

                          Cheers
                          David.
