    LECCY AERIALS.

Hey ho, my old girl has the aerial hole on the wrong side, i.e offside, and there isn't enough room below for a conventional electricaerial, I did have a nice RR remote one but that's had to be binned and I can't find another. Some XJ6 and XJ40s used the same or similar but they're equally elusive, anybody got, or know of one that I can purchase for genuine beer vouchers ? :? Martin.

try a couple of jaguar breakers - you might find that the one from an X300 shape jag will fit also as they are similar to the XJ40 (x300 is the shape after the XJ40 and looks like a modern Series 3)

Good idea but not much hope of finding a Jag breaker up here in the sticks. Martin.

        Try this breaker website, Martin

I have had some success with it in the past for elusive parts.

            Hi Martin

It might be worth giving these a ring,I've driven past it a few times, but never dealt with them.
They have quite a few old Jags outside.it looks like they break more cars than repair.
The name sounds far more glamorous than the appearance.

Martin my areal is on the passenger side will this cause problems when fitting electric type as it is a manual pull one that's on at the moment.

Mike, the passenger side is the correct original side for the aerial, there is plenty of room to fit an electric one there.

Hi Mike, wot ee said ! If the one you buy is too long, you can cut a relief hole in the boot board, on the offside the petrol tank is in the way. Martin.

Do you have to run the supply from the front of the car for an electric aerial or is there a better way, Terry

                      Hi Martin
Remember to fit the drain tube when you install. I fitted a standard size aerial (removed from the TR) on the off side. Due to the need to cut the floor board I forgot, and could not figure out why the carpet kept on getting soaked. A small hole in the bottom and a piece of pipe sorted the problem.

                      regards

Hiya, the drain's already there from the previous aerial, good thinking though. Martin.

Terry, for an auto aerial, you need to run two wires fromthe back of the head unitto therear, it's not difficult, tuckthem under the left edge of the drivers carpet, over the rearseat combing on theright handside, then behind the side panel with the cubby in it, the whole of the rear wing is accessableso all you need is a bit of stiff wire to guide them through to the boot. Martin.

i dont have a drilled home for an ariel - new wings! - does anyone have a way to fit an ariel without drilling - have considered the windscreen stick on ones, but I doubt they work.... (well at least!).............
