The plugs are numbered from front to rear. 1,3,5 and 7 are on the right, and 2,4,6 and 8 on the left. The ignition timing is taken from No 2 cylinder.The firing order is cast into the top of the inlet manifold-
1,2,7,8,4,5,6,3.. The distributor rotates in an anti clockwise direction, and No.1 HT lead fits the cap slightly to the left of centre of the vacuum advance unit.
