Radio wasnot an option, but you could get goodies like fitted wing mirrors, a badge bar, rear foglight, fog and driving lights (Quartz Halogen at extra cost)rubber mats and mudflaps as Triumph Showroom fitted options.
I think 74 was the year inflation really took off. I have memories of a cost of living pay increaseof 22% around that time.
At launch (1970) they were just under £2000 with either hard top or soft top. If you wanted the soft top with the optional hard top, then it was just over £2000. (I think the hard top was around £75). If you specified just the hard top, that's what you got. The soft top well was empty!
The Mercedes SL (seen as the main target) was around £4000 at the time.

Got my first Stag in feb 76 that was a hot year, never needed to put the top up. Couldn't have wished for a better introduction to topless driving. O the memories....Happy days.
Paul - bit later than you. I got mine late 70's (I'll have to check) and paid around 2k for it. A couple of years earlier (75) me and a mate (2 lads aged 21!) 'did' the South of France, Nice and Monte Carlo, in his silver Jensen Healey. If I new then what I know now ... !

I was running around in a '66 MGB roadster at the time. This was the year we got married. Down in Devon we had no rain from March to September and the week before we got wed there was a cloudburst and flash floods. My Fiance and I, and a mate and his girl went out for a ride. My mate had an MGA. We got caught in the downpour on the way home. My MGB cut out driving through flood water that was lapping over the sills, and this was only about 5-10 minutes after the rain started.
Happy days indeed!
