    Heater box

Delved into the heater box like a gynocoligist today through the fresh air outlet as cold fresh air is coming out all the time
looks like the flap doesn't close all the way shut.
is there a way to adjust the flap so it shuts more without having to remove the dash ect
also I couldn't resist peeling off the old foam seal for some reason ,so what can I use to replace it ?
    thanks for looking

No idea how to do it without removing everything. When I refurbished my heater box I replaced all the foam with closed cell foam hoping it wouldn't retain water.

Ok I e replaced the foam with some foam mating we use for laying cat 6 cables on concrete floors but the vent doesn't fully close.
Can the cable that controls the flap be adjusted?like say a accelerator cable?

Yes. It’s all in Section 80 of the ROM.

Great photo and than foam looks in great condition compared to what mine was like. I know mine was the original from the factory and it did last for around 20 years, which was pretty good. I managed to replace it in situ with a more durable soft similar thickness black felt which sealed very well. Many materials would be appropriate in this application and you would need to make sure you get the replacement material all pressing on the metal ridge from above. You do need to have a good back and excellent flexibility though..
As others have mentioned the cable does need adjusting.

Doesn't show if or how fresh air flap can be adjusted in workshop manual unfortunately

Is this your new retirement job Dave? Reading the ROM for Forum users?
