The chopper disc is available separately. I used to have a spare, which you can have; I'll PM you if I can find it.

That's extremely kind of you. I'll refund your postage if and when you find it.
I presume they are all the same for V8's. Mine has 170 stamped on it but I've no idea how old it is and the previous owner died in 2016 so I've no way of finding out.
All seems to be cleared up now so thanks to those who took the trouble to post and a special thanks to 022Dave who kindly sent me a replacement chopper disc wheel all the way from Cornwall.
Swapped the damaged chopper disc with the one that Dave from Cornwall kindly sent me. As you can see from the photo I think I dodged a bullet with this one...
Just be careful that the spare chopper is not one for a Rover V8.
The first lumenition system I bought back in the 80s came with two 8 bladed choppers and I assumed one was a spare. I turned out they sent the same kit out fr Rover and Stag engines but the rotation of the distributor is opposite and it means that when correctly timed the rotor arm doesn't point at the distributor cap contacts correctly.
It is possible that a direction arrow was marked on the upper surface.

Well it looks identical and has the same number-170 stamped on it and a rotation arrow. I fitted it yesterday and it fired up ok, although I haven't yet had it on the road.
