Just a quick question, having left my haynes manual 250 miles away...... How do you remove the jet from the carb? Just it just snap into place?
Rob
Hiya Rob, welcome. The jet has to be driven out using the right sized length of tube, then the new one driven in, it's final position/height is fairly critical and they should really be done in pairs. Cheers, Martin.
Hi Rob, please forgive me, for some reason (age ?) I deleted your message and I've only just found it. The jet is driven out from the top, then the new one in from below. If you want to keep the old jet, use a thin walled tube so as not to damage the orifice. Cheers, Martin.
I just did the job. It was favorable to cool down the jet in a fridge and warm up the housing (60 C in a stove). The new Burlen jets are 0.05 mm thicker, check before you start pressing them in.
Burlen told me on the phone that the original depth measured from the bridge was 2.5 mm. It is important that both are in the same position (tuning!).
