    Differential reconditioning

I need to replace my existing differential.
Does anyone know of a good supplier that will provide a good reconditioned unit?
I've heard that it is very difficult to find a good one.
    Thanks for your help
    Regards,

please see my posts about diffs. I think Hardys are as good as anyone. You can not guarantee to get one that is 100% quiet though..

Frank - I can re-iterate the comments about Hardy's. I stripped mine out, took it to Hardys and they fitted a reconditioned 3.45 diff from a TR6 into the Stag casing just over 12 months ago.

It was 100% better - but still not whisper quiet - all depends on the CWP I believe and you're very lucky if its totally quiet.

Had a recon unit from TD Fitchett inSep 2008. Been superb and very quiet.

I wonder if they use Shelly Transmissions in Wolverhampton? I was going to get my old diff done by them but sold the car.

They told me they had done lots of Triumph diffs and were not a problem.

I overhauled my own its not to hard, getting the hubs off is the worst part it depends on what is available to you in regards to tools etc take a look at these pics

I made an adapter for my floor jack which made the installation a one man job. If you buy a recon make sure they have fitted a drain plug, also I used Redline 75w90 for the gear oil.
