how much gearbox oil?

hi guys, do any one know how much gearbox oil is needed to refill a auto gearbox with a rover 3.5 torque convertor. thanks paul

Hi Paul, it depends to some degree on the condition of the trans non-return valve, and how long you leave it to drain, it'll be about the same as a TV8, in the region of 6 litres, if you can, leave it to drain overnight. Martin.

HI Paul.about 11 pints.But don't overfill ,top up the last two pints slowly and keep checking level,from memory i think you should do this while engine ticking over,also put it into each gear so all oilways are filled.hope this helps.Colin H.

Sorry guys, but that quantity would be for the trans and the convertor, and the convertor won't empty. Martin.
