Drive it day - Sunday 28th April

The Alvis Owners Club has reminded members that next Sunday is drive it day. I hope the SOC will also have lots of us out and about.
As I have to still to fix the sunroof on the Grey Lady, I will be out and about in the Stag even if it’s raining! Dorset and the Purbecks are worth taking the Stag out and about.

20 of us out on a drive around the Essex countryside - really hoping the rain stays away though and we have sun like the last weekend!

There's a group of Cornish Stags joining up with TSSC (boo, hiss) to carry out a subversive raid into Devon, to the Dingles Steam Fairground near Lifton. Whilst we are there, we'll show them how to make proper pasties, and teach them to put jam on scones before the clotted cream, when having a cream tea! My Stag has a Devon registration, so I should get away with it.

Here in the North East of Scotland the Stags and other Triumphs will be joining in on a Drive it Day Run organised by the Garioch Vehicle Restoration Society.

            Cream first, m'lud
I should know, on our last Cornish holiday in a rented VW Camper, we spent more on cream teas than diesel!!

If I remember correctly from my few years in Cornwall an AF number plate got you a parking spot when there were "none left", so there was a premium on used cars with AF plates!
Also a Non-Emmet sticker helped until Newquay banned the sale of them.

and anyway Is there another way of building a cream Tea??

I find the TSSC bunch are a great crowd. Makes it more interesting to see other Trihmphs . Best stop off at Jamaica inn on the way up to make sure you get a proper cream tea.
As every time I visited the Dingles steam museum with the Cornish stags. We where lucky to even get a bite to eat there.
                Cream on top.
I ask this if you have a jam tart and cream where do you put the cream.

I could own a Stag without a HT, but jam before cream? Not a chance.......

All that can be offered here in Dorset is warm Dorset Lardy cake. Not sure it would be nice with cream however. Anyone out there going to be driving around Poole Wareham Swanage Corfe way?
