    Stag water pump rebuild

    Hi All,
I have been asked by a friend to rebuild his waterpump. All I have is a shaft, cage impellor and a rebuild kit. Does anybody have any instructions on how to carry out the rebuild please? I've looked on the net to no avail.
regards to all, and thanks in advance

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away .......

..... there were books. One of them ist the Triumph Stag ROM. Water Pump overhaul is a dedicated chapter in it.

Here's a handy video from Rimmer Bros on removing and fitting the pump once you've rebuilt it:

The rebuild itself is quite straight forward, the harder part is acquiring the tooling to separate and then press the parts back together without compromising anything

Get a Steve stag dad water pump
I have been so impressed with mine stays amazingly predictable as in temp and water level
quite simply put the best thing you can do for your stag IMHA

Raoul have a look at this as well

My Inlet manifold and water pump have been leaking slightly for a couple of years, so thought it was time to tackle them, when I took the manifold off one of the Wurth thread inserts was broken, this insert was fitted to a thread that was heavily damaged by a previous owner, and had a 3/8 bolt in an oval hole. The insert fitted

I've always had the impeller machined to remove any grooves when rebuilding the pumps on my various TR7's, Dolly's and my Stag. Just take a smidgen off so the new seal is on fresh metal.
