Bruce, MPs won’t be bothered, as we’ve seen recently they do things to suit themselves. I honestly think this is going to happen almost everywhere and classic cars will be ruled off the road eventually. Glad I never paid £5.75M for James Coburns old Ferrari California now! (The one Chris Evens bought)
The Federation of British historic vehicles clubs should be putting forward the argument to keep the heritage of classic cars on all roads. There are good economic reasons as well. I know a Patrick Rollet personally at FIVA and will let him know if he doesn’t already.
Both organisations lobby governments and other bodies to protect our continued use of classic cars. Meantime all owners of classic cars need to write and put reasons forward why old cars should exempted. Paris in France has exempted old classics.
Lesley (president) sent an email received via the FBHV to all Scottish coordinators yesterday urging action - I’ll take snother look at it in case there is a petition or something non Scottish based owners can help with.
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't
Here is the letter from the FBHV with details of the issue and what action should be taken by anyone in a Scottish constituency- copy and past job to send to your MSP by email. Paul
I have heard back from Patrick Rollet at FIVA. He has asked the FIVA team covering legislation to take this on board and they should already be working with Bob Owen and David Whale at FBHHV. Patrick says it’s important that all individuals with Classic Cars more than 40 years old make individual representations to their MSP. This message needs to get out to the other classic car clubs for action - if not already done.
as I said previously, if one of the most polluted cities like Paris can make an exception for the odd 40 year old plus classic car to traverse Paris, there is no reason why the less polluted Scottish Cities should not do likewise.

That's the very same file I attached to the first post when I started this thread!
