    Overdrive ‘IN’ green light

i have added some extra cabling so that the green light used to indicate rear window demist when hard-top is in place will also light to indicate ‘IN’ position of overdrive, whatever gear engaged or neutral.

Sometimes, when coming to halt from 4th overdrive, i forget to put overdrive ‘OUT’ so that when starting again from 1st, 2nd, then 3rd overdrive come with too much demultiplication. A simple modification i find usefull and not involving an extra light.

I’ve recently thought that a light to indicate that the fuel pump has power could be useful. Not sure how to implement it though.

You will have to put an extra cable going from + lead of fuel pump to + lead of this green light if you also wish to use it instead of adding another light.

if still using it for the heated screen as well don't forget to put a diode in each cable to stop cross feeds

Yes, for sure. There already so much electrical gremlins, no need to add another one. Thanks

I find the flickering of the Seat Belt warning a useful check when starting up, plus I can hear it. I'd be wary of adding a connection to the unfused fuel pump circuit.

Both times my fuel pump has stopped were while driving in full spate … impossible to hear the pump in those circumstances! My late 1972 car doesn’t have the seatbelt warning light.
i think I’ll put a tell-tale in the pump supply from the inertia switch, maybe a relay so that if the inertia switch fails a red light illuminates.
