    Hi Peter

I have only done a TR6 hard top and that was OK and enjoyable job to do.I would imagine the Stag one is similar basis. The head lining comes with loops and you push the old wire poles through and they secure in a ridge in the hard top edge just inside. you then using Evostick pull the material evenly working from one end to the other and the material secures itself by wrapping round on all edges where the glass rubber seals fit and when glue has set, it wont budge.

Not sureif this helps or not, but its a one man job to do and the most important aspect when doing this is to lay the hard top on its back on your best material or blanket. I naturally did my on our bed so as not to scratch the paint. We couldnt sleep because of the smell of glue, but we havegot over it now. use Evostrick and have some white spirit handy for cleaning up afterwards

    Good luck

Did this about 4 years ago. Made the mistake of doing it in the winter. Unless you have a well heated garage, I would wait for summer as it is easier to shape the lining and remove the creases. I hadn't done one before, but it is fairly straightforward. Adhere to the maxim 'measure twice - cut once' and you shouldn't go far wrong.

I presume you have the rear window out? The headlining is held in place by the window seal at the back. Also all the seal fittings have to beremoved and pop rivetted back again to hold the headlining around the base.

Finding a good pair of front and rear seals is a headache, so if the original ones are good look after them. Replacements are made of a hard rubber instead of a spongey type and they can squeak horribly when the top is fitted.

I suggest you give the hard top a good dose of rust killing cavity wax before you fit the new headlining and leave it a while to drain off before fitting. You don't want your new paintwork to be spoilt by the inevitable tin-worm burrowing out from inside.

      Good luck.
