Hood front securing handles

The hood front securing handles on my stag keep loosening off as I'm driving. Sometimes within a mile or so. Is there any way these can be tightened up or adjusted in any way, thanks Terry

Hi,

Underneath the chrome header strip there is a catch that wears and can be replaced on both sides, these can be purchased new from Tony Hart or other suppliers.

Hi Terry,
I bid for a pair of good secondhand ones from Justriumph on fleabay, and it cured the problem. The missus was getting armache holding the lever on the passenger side in place for a couple of hours at a time. Couldn't see what the fuss was about myself!!
They are made of brass however, and do wear, so you may wish to buy new ones from Tony Hart to ensure they work ok

I tried fitting new ones. Couldn't get the hood down as the holes in the latches didn't line up correctly with the handles. So I used 2nd hand ones.

Another case of poor quality repro parts.

I had the same problem with the hard top handles. Bought a pair from Tony and fitted them last week. Bit tight when used for the first time, but no problem as long as you grease them when fitting.
