    Leaks

Hi all. Just found a very elusive leak into the interior of the car that may be of help to others who suffer wet carpets! After my rebuild and new windscreen rubbers etc , I have been chasing leaks that allowed my carpets to become sopping wet when we had any period of heavy rain. I noticed that the furflex seal was wet at the bottom of the door, but couldn’t find where it was coming from. Dire card membranes were good etc. The seal was deformed slightly at the front corner allowing water to wick up into the fabric of the seal and soaking the carpet. Solution, put some sealer into the channel of the door seal. Worked a treat. If the seal is not perfect, it will leak!

Tried to get some pictures, but the seal is now fixed solid! I am going to get a full rubber seal to replace the furflex one so will take some photos when I rip off the old one. One thing I noticed when doing the job was the seam the seal fits to was differing thickness due to repairs to the sills etc. This is a point where leaks could get through.
