My '77 model Stag has the total mileage covered at the top of the speedo dial, and a trip meter at the bottom, as per attached photo, although the trip meter part no longer works.

This is an electronic version of the Stag speedo made by Caerbont to special order. It is triggered by a sensor mounted on the diff, sensing rotational speed of the prop shaft flange. There is only one digital display which, by default, shows the total mileage. There is a button under the dash, in the same place as the OE trip reset button, which selects and resets trip mileage display. When it was supplied I had it set to the original mileage of the Stag. It can be calibrated to suit whatever diff/wheel/tyre combination is fitted to the car and the needle is rock steady, unlike the +/-10mph of the original.Last edited by DJT; 1 July 2019, 16:30.Dave
