How do you set up a temporary remote starter switch,to turn over/start the engine without climbing in and out of the drivers seat? to check compression and check carbs/timing e.t.c

Make up a simple tool as follows:
Parts: a push button switch (10 amp DC rating); an inline fuse (try 10 amp); some 20 amp wire; a croc clip for the battery +; a female spade connector (large enough to fit the starter solenoid)
Wire them all in series, then connect the spade termina up to the starter solenoid, and croc clip to the battery.
Just push the button to start cranking.
