    FITTING HOLLEY CARBS

    JUST BOUGHT SET OF HOLLEY CARBS WITH ALL ACCESORIES NEED BIT OF HELP FITTING AND SETTING UP , ANY PICS DIAGRAMS INFOMATION WILL BE IDEAL THIS IS THE ADVERT I PURCHASED FROM WITH ALL DETAILS OF THE KIT , READ BELOW

    [align=center]I had this set up on my triumph stag for some time,I have decided to revert back to the original strombergs,not because there is anything wrong with the holley, I personally prefer the look of the original set up[/align]
    [align=center]the carbrettor and parts were all set up and running with the aid of a wide band oxygen sensor and gauge then loaded on to laptop for results and fine tweaking[/align]
    [align=center]IT WAS ONLY REMOVED TODAY AND I CAN GUARENTEE WORKING CONDITION[/align]
    [align=center]Iwill list each part in more detail as follows;[/align]

    [align=center]HOLLEY 390CFM FOUR BARREL CARBURETTOR,PART NUMBER 0-8007[/align]
    [align=center]PURCHASED NEW FROM THE USA LESS THAN 18 MONTHS AGO[/align]
    [align=center]IT HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH SECONDARY METERING BLOCK(so you can change the jets)[/align]
    [align=center]ALSO HAS Quickchange Vacuum Secondary FACILITY[/align]
    [align=center]It is fitted with 51 jets to primary and 53 to secondary which was all ok for me,however engines differ so you may need to fine tune [/align]
    [align=center]if so their is4 diffent pairs of jets included[/align]
    [align=center]48.49.50.52,[/align]
    [align=center]also included is a new pack of differnt strength vacuum springs[/align]
    [align=center]IT HAS NO CHOKE FACILITY (THEY ARE NOT VERY GOOD ON HOLLEY ,ESPECIALLY THE ELECTRIC ONES[/align]
    [align=center]TWO PUMPS ON THE THROTTLE FROM COLD AND YOU ARE AWAY[/align]
    [align=center]THIS IS QUITE NORMAL WITH HOLLEYS[/align]
    [align=center]MANIFOLD ADAPTER PLATE[/align]
    [align=center]PURCHASED FROM TONY HART LESS THAN A MONTH AGO COST £140[/align]
    [align=center]why ?you ask;I had a monach adapter plate which i sold [/align]
    [align=center]andI wanted to fabricate my own angle plate[/align]
    [align=center]7 DEGREE PHENOLIC WEDGE[/align]
    [align=center]FABRICATED TO ALLOW BETTER INSULATION OF CARB FLOATS FROM MANIFOLD HEAT IN SUMMER ,[/align]
    [align=center]ALSO HELPS WITH LOW REV TORQUE[/align]
    [align=center]14 " AIR CLEANER[/align]
    [align=center]CHROMED LOW RIDER[/align]
    [align=center]TOP WAS RECHROMED BY RAY HODGE AS THEY ARE NEVER THAT GOOD FROM MANUFACTERS[/align]
    [align=center]FACILITY TO CONNECT TO CAM COVER[/align]
    [align=center]14 X 3" AMERICAN IMPORT AIR CLEANER(forget the makers name but equall to but cheaper than K&N)[/align]
    [align=center]ALSO INCLUDES[/align]
    [align=center]FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR-- THROTLE LINKAGE--CHROMED FUEL FILTER-- PCV VALVE(POLISHED ALLOY)[/align]
    [align=center]CARB STUDS AND NUTS--POLISHED ALLOY OIL CATCH TANK AND BRACKET[/align]
    [align=center]I HAD MY RIGHT CAM COVER ADAPTED FOR THE PVC VALVE ,SO YOU MIGHT NOT USE THIS ,BUT WILL RUN FINE WITH EXISTING STAG SET UP TO BASE OF AIR CLEANER[/align]

    Sounds the same as my set-up that has been 100% reliable for 15 years.

    I have however 49 & 51 jets fitted that are fine with my wide band oxygen sensor. It originally had 51 & 53 jets but I found it to be veryrich with sooty tail pipes.

      thanks for that .. what is the performance difference ??? noticeable???? also fuel consuption when easy driving

        I did a complete engine rebuild at the time incl. gas flowed heads, hotter cams, tubular manifolds, balanced ect so the total performance was enhanced.

        I can get early 20's on a long run doing 70-80.

        Having the standard diff and a BW35 auto is never going to bring high economy figures.
